About

Built for local businesses that don't want to look like everyone else.

JL Web Services is a UK web design agency built on one idea: your website should feel like it was made for you, not picked off a shelf.

The founder

Why I started JL Web Services

I kept seeing the same thing: genuinely great local businesses - builders, cafés, bars, independents - being let down by a website that looked like it was built in an afternoon from a free template. Meanwhile the businesses down the road that invested properly in how they show up online were the ones fully booked.

JL Web Services exists to close that gap for businesses that can't justify a big-agency price tag but deserve a big-agency result: a site that's actually designed for their business, not adapted from one that wasn't.

The approach

What makes it different

-

Fully bespoke, never a template

Every site is designed around your business, your brand and your customers - not picked from a theme store and reworded.

-

Local-business focus

I work with the businesses I actually understand - local independents, tradespeople, hospitality and food brands - not generic enterprise clients.

-

Fully coded, not bloated

No drag-and-drop page builders stacking unnecessary code onto every page. Everything is hand-coded from scratch, so your site stays fast and lean instead of sluggish.

-

A real process, built on trust

You see a free mockup before paying anything, and you're never more than a message away once the site is live.

Legitimacy, not guesswork

A proper process behind every build

No disappearing after the invoice, no site that quietly breaks a year later with nobody to call.

Direct communication

You deal with me directly, start to finish - no account managers, no relay chain.

Ongoing support

Hosting, unlimited edits and easy, direct contact for changes are part of the service, not upsells.

See it before you pay

Every engagement starts with a free mockup, so you know exactly what you're getting first.
